Data Engineer (Power BI) - R&D, IFS ESG

We, the IFS ESG team, lookouts for dynamic and open-minded individuals to join us as Power BI Data Engineers, to work on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) related developments. 

This is a great opportunity to work in the Sustainability and ESG  where you will get the opportunity to work on developing products aimed at helping companies achieve their sustainability goals and report on their progress in-line with international standards. The ESG product is in an incubation phase giving the opportunity work on iterative product development consistent with a customer centric approach.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer with expertise in Power BI to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and analytics solutions using Power BI. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and accuracy of data while creating visually appealing and insightful reports and dashboards.

Specifically, it will involve:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into Power BI
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient data models and visualizations
• Building and optimizing data models in Power BI to support complex analytical queries and reporting needs
• Implementing data governance and data quality best practices to ensure data integrity and accuracy
• Monitoring and troubleshooting data issues, ensuring timely resolution and proactive identification of potential bottlenecks
• Staying up to date with the latest Power BI features, tools, and best practices to continuously improve data analytics capabilities

Essential:

• Degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent professional qualification

Desirable:

• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
• Analytical and Reporting skills (Power BI) would be a plus
• Data engineering certification
• Tenacious, with a passion to get the job done
• Strong experience in data engineering and designing data solutions using Power BI
• Proficient in developing ETL processes, data pipelines, and data transformation using Power Query and M languages
• In-depth understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and SQL
• Familiarity with data modeling, data integration, and data governance principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
