Data Engineer: This is where you come in.
We’re searching for a talented Data Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this key position, you’ll be instrumental in building the data infrastructure that powers MacDonald-Miller’s next generation of data-driven insights and business intelligence. Your work will ensure the accessibility, cleanliness, and reliability of our data, enabling informed decision-making across the company.
As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems that collect, manage, and transform raw data into actionable insights. Collaborating closely with BI Analyst, Accounting and Business Units, you’ll ensure that our data operations meet the evolving needs of our business.
To drive our success, you'll take on these core functions as a data champion:
- Data Pipeline Development and Data Modeling: Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to streamline ETL processes into data warehouses. Design efficient data models that ensure data integrity and performance, while having opportunities to apply machine learning for advanced analytics.
- Data Visualization: Develop impactful Power BI reports and dashboards that make complex data insights easy to understand, ensuring diverse stakeholders can leverage data effectively. Use advanced features to enhance data storytelling and decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement process improvements, including re-architecting infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual workflows.
- Data Quality Assurance: Build and optimize infrastructure for seamless extraction, transformation, and loading of data using Azure Data Factory, MS Fabric, Fabric Data Factory, and SQL technologies, ensuring top-tier data quality.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key stakeholders to support their data infrastructure needs, helping with technical issues while translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for non-technical audiences.
This role reports to Maryna Wandschneider, IT Business Solutions Manager, and is part of a collaborative team working on a variety of critical projects and initiatives to support MacDonald-Miller’s growth. In this highly visible position, you’ll interact with teams across all levels of the organization.

- Proven experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python and data modeling for data warehouses.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, MS Fabric, Fabric Data Factory and Databricks cloud platforms and big data tools like PySpark.
- Expertise in staying current with data storage and management best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing data integrity.
- A minimum of 2 years in data processing, including working with data analytics platforms like Databricks or MS Fabric.

Benefits
Compensation: $85,000 to $110,000 Annually
