About the role:

We empower organisations to fully harness their engineering information through our market-leading Phusion SaaS platform. As a Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in transforming raw data into valuable insights. You will process and prepare a wide range of client data, laying the groundwork for project success and operational efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing and cleansing data from various formats, such as Excel spreadsheets and Access databases, and loading it into our in-house software. By identifying valuable sources of engineering information and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, you will guide and train team members, collaborate with consultants and project managers, and provide technical support. Your contributions will enable the effective use of engineering data to execute projects, streamline operations, and drive industrial transformation. Here's what the role looks like:

  • Review client engineering information and provide guidance on processing methods.
  • Identify valuable sources of engineering information and define their optimal utilization.
  • Familiarise with systems used on assets for managing maintenance, hazardous equipment, lifting equipment, inspections, etc., and assist in collating and structuring digital information.
  • Apply knowledge of regulations and data standards, advising and coaching team members.
  • Guide and train team members on how to read and extract data from documents such as P&IDs and 3D models.
  • Support quality assurance activities by reviewing a wide range of engineering information and reporting any anomalies and discrepancies.
  • Liaise directly with clients, attending meetings, and addressing technical queries to support Consultants and Project Managers.

Requirements

Here are the key skills and experience relevant to this role:  

  • Comprehensive understanding of various types of engineering information used in major capital projects and operational assets, with the ability to advise and coach team members on managing this information.
  • Ability to provide technical support in specific disciplines, particularly related to equipment and associated data and documents.
  • Skilled in reviewing engineering documents and identifying relevant information to support project needs.
  • Conversant with engineering data, documents, and 3D models.
  • Strong understanding of engineering industry standards and regulations.
