Overview:
Using highly developed analytical, technical, and conceptual skills, the Data Engineer will deliver data focused, cloud native software solutions to various clients. The Mindex interactive process of Agile product development often requires adaptation in approach based on client norms and feedback. The Data Engineer will be inspired by the challenges a new project brings and will provide crucial input to our architectural and software solutions. Effective verbal and written communication, and easy to understand technical explanations will be necessary to keep clients, senior management and staff aligned and engaged.
Essential Functions:
- Engages directly with client stakeholders and possesses the ability to complete project tasks that align with the customers’ roadmap and vision. May serve as the primary contact for customers.
- Develops both technical and non-technical connections within one's team, across Mindex delivery teams, and with customer stakeholders.
- Applies software development experience using analytics tools and/or programming languages (Python, R, Spark, Hadoop, etc.), databases (SQL and no-SQL), or data visualization tools (Quicksight, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Build, test, scale and maintain Cloud-native data pipelines.
- Contributes to the design, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale, critical, or complex data solutions, encompassing tasks such as data discovery, cleaning, model selection, validation, and deployment.
- Experience with OLTP and OLAP databases. Experience with Redshift a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with serverless compute platforms like AWS Lambda and/or AWS Glue.
- Familiarity with AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Q, Bedrock and Sagemaker
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- AS or BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, or
related area preferred, or an equivalent combination of education. - 3-5 years of software development experience
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication skills to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and
concisely with members of your team as well as customer stakeholders. - Experience implementing a data pipeline for an enterprise application.
- Strong analysis, critical-thinking capabilities & problem-solving skills.

The band range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, education, experience, training, certifications, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at, or near, the top of the range for their role; and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The range for this role is $90,000 - $140,000.
