Data Engineer
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team which sits under Tech and Data. 
You will join a cross-functional Analytics Excellence  team consisting of a group of Analytics engineers and Data analysts from diverse backgrounds who leverage the latest technologies to build robust and user-friendly infrastructure and data sets to self-serve for non-coding Circlers.

The role

  • Working with Product Engineers to establish ‘what is good quality data’
  • Design, develop, and manage end-to-end data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from multiple sources 
  • Automate deployment and infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Collaborate in the development of best practices, documentation, and process improvements for data operations. 
  • Play a key role in establishing best practices for modelling and processing data
  • Help support data culture initiatives to grow data maturity at Funding Circle
What we’re looking for 
  • Proficiency in SQL/ Python/ Pyspark and/or other languages relevant to data processing Worked with large-scale data storage and processing tools using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and EMR 
  • Strong experience in dbt 
  • Build and optimise data models, ensuring data is structured, accessible, and performant for downstream analytics and machine learning models 
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in data pipelines, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal data throughput 
  • Strong probleming solving skills and attention to detail
  • A passion for creating business value through data 
  • Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to translate technical concepts to non technical stakeholders
