Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a full stack Data Architect to help take our Data & AI team to the next level. Your focus will be on designing data-intensive applications in Azure that align with customer business goals and helping set internal technical direction for our Data & AI group. The ideal candidate excels at creating modern data solutions to stubborn business problems and enjoys working across the entire data stack from requirements gathering to system design, implementation, and documentation. You thrive in early-stage environments that provide freedom to move fast and ship new features at high velocity without compromising quality standards. You’ll work with a high-performance engineering team and report directly to the Practice Manager of Data & AI, significantly influencing our technical direction and that of our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Identify customer needs and build tailored data engineering solutions.
  • Lead the design, strategic direction, and implementation of data architectures on customer projects.
  • Communicate complex ideas simply to diverse audiences.
  • Navigate ambiguity between current and future states.
  • Advise Concurrency leadership on technical directions to expand Data & AI market share.
  • Mentor team members and promote high standards in data engineering and system design.
  • Publish thought leadership content to attract and educate target customers through GitHub, LinkedIn, blogs, or YouTube.
  • Lead requirements gathering workshops with technical and non-technical customers.
  • Confidently lead any stage of the data software development lifecycle.
  • Challenge the status quo to propose improvements.
  • Embrace challenges and demonstrate resilience in the face of failure.

What You'll Need

  • Languages: Python 3.8+, SQL, PySpark.
  • Cloud/Azure: Data Management Landing Zones, Data Landing Zones, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB
  • System Design:
  • Apply Domain-Driven Design for optimal Azure architecture topologies.
  • Enable data product interoperability using Common Data Model or industry data models.
  • Data Strategy: Craft enterprise data strategies that balance trade-offs, organizational structure, tech maturity, and strategic objectives.
  • DevOps & Orchestration: CI/CD in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), automation (Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps).
  • Data Warehousing & Modeling: Design scalable data warehouses and manage complex data pipelines.
  • Governance: Implement data contracts, MDM, data catalog, lineage, and metadata management.
  • Security: IAM, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Key Vault, Encryption, Data Loss Prevention.
  • Tools: GitHub, PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Microsoft MVP.
  • Strong software engineering experience.
  • Experience in professional services organizations.
  • Azure Purview and Fabric implementation.
  • Data fabric and/or data mesh experience.
  • Scala, Java, Terraform.
  • Power BI report creation and deployment.
  • API development with FastAPI or Django REST framework.
  • MLOps infrastructure, pipelines, and automated governance.
  • Product mentality with a professional services approach.
  • Experience building Azure data infrastructure in Manufacturing or Retail (Agriculture, Education, Hospitality, or Financial Services are also valued).
  • Demonstrable thought leadership through an active GitHub, blog posts, or publications.
  • 15+ years building data or system architectures.
