GfK Global Service Center Media Measurement (GSC MM) is a global operations department located in Sofia. As a centralized operations Hub, GSC MM includes positions with various job profiles on support and professional career track, working closely with all local markets Operations as well as various global Technology and Product teams. The department services include data monitoring and operations, support for various systems and processing pipelines, and data analytics both for MM Integrated Solutions and MM Core Currency products.  

Focus of the Role

The Currency Operations Specialist is part of the GSC MM Currency Operations Team and works on TV/Radio Audience Measurement (TAM/RAM) data monitoring, reporting and delivery for multiple countries. The role is responsible for the first level data quality reporting and different systems monitoring, working in 24/7 shifts which include also on-call duty work. Currency Operations Specialist works in close cooperation with the local country operations teams and escalates issues to the global systems support (2nd level) and engineering (3rd level) teams.

Key Activities

  • First level monitoring support for the media measurement data production, working in 24/7 shifts
  • Daily monitoring of production procedures, e.g. correlation, matching, data processing stages, etc.
  • Daily data quality checks (e.g. ratings per channel), data query and reporting
  • Sound sampling servers (TV and Radio) operations and technical monitoring
  • Support the engineers with the platform servers technical monitoring
  • Work closely and act as Hub’s first line contact for the local country MM operations teams
  • Develop expertise in the local media channels situation and their broadcast behavior
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and extracting relevant data from the production database
  • Work closely with Hub and global systems support and engineering teams
  • Document data monitoring procedures, workflows and best practices
  • Support optimizations of Hub monitoring and quality control processes
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and data extraction from the production databases

 

Required skills and knowledge

  • Experience with data and process monitoring, data quality management
  • Very good data management skills (e.g. MS Excel)
  • Good IT skills and general Windows/Linux administration knowledge
  • Understanding of data query tools (e.g. SQL, SPSS, R)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Sound knowledge in the field of web technologies
  • Analytical skills and attention to details attitude
  • Ability to convey technical information effectively
  • Eager to gain more technical knowledge

 

Typical Education and Work Experience required

  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience (data monitoring, process monitoring, data management)
  • University degree or comparable education /experience
