The Commercial Analytics team’s primary responsibility is in the integration, measurement and optimisation of our travel inventory. Working with hundreds of travel providers across many thousands of routes, the team ensures we have the options our customers need.
The team collaborates closely across the business, particularly with our commercial, product, and finance functions, and has a significant impact on setting and delivering on our strategic priorities relating to expanding our global inventory. The team also has responsibilities in supporting our B2B business and working with finance on Payments and Fraud operations, but this role is very focused on global inventory.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
Understand Omio’s business model, particularly around the supply of travel inventory across the globe.
Understand and lead on establishing Omio’s top-line metrics and KPIs, reporting their evolution, detecting anomalies, evaluating key drivers, and diagnosing issue root causes.
Build dashboards to support efficient dissemination of the above trends
Work alongside the commercial team to draw insights on the performance of key commercial metrics related to inventory, funnel conversions, bookings, basket size, take rates, etc. across markets
Build forecasting models to understand gaps in current performance and sales/revenue optimization models to enhance margins without negatively impacting user experience
Perform statistical analyses - including A/B tests and pre/post analyses
Correlate marketing/product/commercial data to derive key insights
Work with our data engineering/business intelligence teams to build data models, which best summarise and utilise our production data
Spot, highlight, and initiate actions on emerging and existing risks related to liabilities and open positions with customers (for example, cancellation liabilities, commission risk, etc.)
Act as an advocate of our company’s data-driven culture: produce reports that are actionable, dashboards that are diagnostic, and recommendations that drive growth
Qualifications:
University degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field; 3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in e-commerce, consultancy or banking/finance.
Passionate about working with numbers; excellent analytical skills, confidence in working with large data sets and expert in SQL and Excel/Google sheets (R/Python is a plus)
Fluent in English; additional languages are always valued at Omio
