The Role:

The Analytics team is currently seeking a data analyst and programmer to enhance the Analytics process and code essential for Euromonitor’s internal Forecast Model, which supports the update of our Passport data. The successful candidate will possess a solid programming foundation in either Python or R, understand cloud computing services, and have a genuine interest in data analytics. In addition to working on the internal Forecast Model process, the data analyst will likely engage in consulting projects requiring similar skills.

A typical consulting analytics project begins with identifying the client's objectives, followed by determining the most optimal solution based on all available data and the client's goals. Proper data treatment is crucial for yielding robust results during solution development, and the project concludes with a results presentation to the client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new code and improve existing code for data treatment, performing mathematical transformations and statistical computations.
  • Participate in internal peer review meetings, contribute to the search for the best solution, and comment on preliminary solutions.
  • Draw conclusions based on results.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in the field to utilize cutting-edge programming and cloud solutions.
  • Properly document each project and share best practices.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and English fluency (both oral and written).
  • Excellent organizational skills and creativity.
  • Advanced knowledge of R/Python and SQL.
  • Ability to automate complex data analysis processes.
  • Understanding of data flows, migrations, ETLs, pipelines, and similar tools.
  • Knowledge of process scaling and parallelization.
  • Capability to write production-ready code.
  • Background in econometrics, statistics, and economics.
  • Knowledge of Dockers, Rest API, JSON data format is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing service platforms (Azure, GCS, others).
  • Experience with SPARQL, JavaScript, HTML, or similar is advantageous.
  • Genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence and related fields like data science and machine learning is advantageous.
  • Confidence and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • M.A. degree in computer science, statistics, econometrics, data science, mathematics, economics, physics, or a similar field. Highly skilled candidates with a B.A. will also be considered.

Salary Range 24k-34k Euros
