We are seeking a full-time Data Analyst to join our Data team in our New York City office. As the newest member of the team, you will partner with colleagues across the firm and be the creative thought leader ensuring that data-driven decisions are being made. You will lead initiatives by partnering with teams across the firm like Operations, Marketing, Product, Finance, Sales and Engineering to provide them with the data modeling, reporting, and analytics support they need to make impactful decisions. Our ideal candidate is a strong cross-functional communicator with a proven ability to solve open-ended problems in an elegant, scalable manner. Responsibilities: 

  • Enable data-driven decision-making by becoming an expert in Alternative Investments and CAIS data, leveraging this expertise to support stakeholder groups. 
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports to effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data. 
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, execute analytics requests, and provide domain expert support. 
  • Work with the Product and Engineering teams to roll out new products/services to our platform, support data migration activities, and monitor their success through reporting or events tracking. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data governance and cataloging efforts by mapping out data assets in need of proper ownership and definitions, developing data governance policies, and promoting its adoption firm-wide 
  • Contribute to building our Data practice by creating training materials, customer-facing assets, and internal resources. 

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis or similar roles, preferably in the Technology or Financial Services industry. 
  • Strong data modeling and reporting skills in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools to tell compelling data-driven stories. 
  • Ability to understand complex ideas, break them down into actionable plans, and deliver solutions. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with various teams across the organization. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data / Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or a related field. 
  • Experience with cloud databases (e.g., Snowflake, AWS) and transformation tools (e.g., dbt). 
  • Experience with Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tools.
  • Experience with Lucidchart, Visio, or similar diagramming tools.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and programming languages.

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $85,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
