Data Acquisition Specialist

What you will be doing:

We are looking for a driven, talented open-source data collection specialist with expertise in data harvesting and managing the data flow. We are a SaaS-based anti-money laundering solution provider dedicated to helping organisations fight financial crime! We are building cutting-edge solutions that help create a safer world and stop money from ending up in the hands of criminals. You will join the Data Team, being involved in collecting and reviewing the accuracy of specific data sets.

As a Data Acquisition Specialist, you will:

• Deal with a large database (with a fast pace of updating) you will be mainly focused on collecting and reviewing the accuracy of specific data sets
• Collect the data that will be relevant to the Anti Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption fields ranging from sanctioned entities to politically exposed people
• Be a part of the product team and collaborate with engineering to ensure we exceed client expectations in relation to our data coverage and quality. We value those who take initiative and pride in their work and thrive in an informal working environment
• Have flexible working hours between 7 AM and 7 PM, tailored to meet both personal and business needs, with core hours from 10 AM to 4 PM

What does success look like after 3 months?

• Understand the data points that are essential for our product to be extracted from Data sources
• Be able to independently update existing manual sources
• Be able to create new sources, following all the processes from building to releasing a new source
• Build strong working relationships with team members, contributing to a positive and productive team environment

About you:

As a Data Acquisition Specialist, you will:

• Have a love for data analysis and deeply believe in evidence-based decision making, thus you should be familiar with one of Microsoft Excel, Access, or another database or spreadsheet application
• Be eager to learn new things and ensure that your work is of the highest standard 
• Have an outstanding attention to detail and be able to identify patterns 
• Be a great team player, being happy to coach and support others but also listen to their feedback 
• Be able to juggle multiple priorities and be able to plan your work in order to meet deadlines
• Communicate effectively with individuals in other teams and offices
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks, demonstrating the ability to pivot and adjust as needed
• University degree 
• Advanced level of English

Nice to haves:

• understanding of how HTML, RegEx work to be able to create Xpaths for selecting what you want to extract from a certain website
• Familiarity with other languages is a plus
