WHAT WILL YOU DO
This individual is responsible for supervising, planning, and controlling all laboratory operations and personnel in the Cytology Laboratory section to ensure patient specimens and information are processed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner. This individual is also responsible for General Supervision (technical and scientific oversight) for these specialty areas. This individual is accessible to the laboratories at all times, either on site or by telephone. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the Catholic Healthcare while performing all job functions.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A. Education/Training: Minimum of 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of acceptable course work with 20 semester hours (30 quarter hours) in Biology plus successful completion of 12 months training in an approved school of Cytotechnology
-OR-
A Bachelor’s degree plus successful completion of 12 months training in an accredited school of Cytotechnology or equivalent experience.
B. Registration: ASCP or equivalent registration is preferred.
C. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years full-time experience as a Cytotechnologist (2080 hours per year) within the preceding 10 years (per CLIA regulations- See CFR 493.1467-1471).
