Cyber Security Consultant

Job Objective:

As a Cyber Security Consultant at Phillips Consulting, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and implementing security measures to protect our clients' systems and data from cyber threats. You will work closely with client organizations to assess their existing security posture, develop security strategies, and implement cybersecurity solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Consultants shall be respected professionals in their field who consistently apply the firm's policies and procedures to:

1. Security Assessments:

(a) Conduct comprehensive security assessments of client systems, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

(b) Identify security gaps and recommend appropriate solutions to mitigate cyber risks.

(c) Provide technical guidance on security best practices and standards to client organizations.

(d) Assist clients in achieving compliance with relevant cybersecurity frameworks and regulations.

2. Security Incident Response:

(a) Develop incident response plans and procedures for client organizations.

(b) Assist clients in managing and responding to security incidents.

(c) Conduct post-incident analysis and provide recommendations for improving incident response capabilities.

3. Security Awareness Training:

(a) Develop and deliver security awareness training programs to educate client employees on cybersecurity best practices.

(b) Conduct phishing simulations to test and improve employee awareness and response to email-based threats.

4. Security Monitoring:

(a) Implement and manage security monitoring tools to detect and respond to potential security incidents.

(b) Conduct regular security log analysis and threat hunting activities.

5. Security Governance and Compliance:

(a) Develop and implement security governance frameworks and policies.

(b) Assist clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with relevant security regulations.

6. Thought Leadership:

(a) Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the field of cybersecurity.

(b) Contribute to the development of white papers, case studies, and presentations on cybersecurity topics.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Experience in conducting security assessments and penetration testing.
  • Knowledge of security incident response procedures and tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM are highly desired.

 

Requirements
