Cyber Security Audit and Business Analyst

We have an opening for a Cyber Security Audit and Business Analyst to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will independently and collaboratively assist with meeting internal and external deliverables in support of the Cyber Security Program Manager and Information System Security Manager. You will also be responsible for planning and performing a wide range of activities associated with cyber security. This position is within the Information Technology Solutions Division (ITSD) of the Computing Directorate and matrixed to the Cyber Security Program (CSP), in support of the Livermore Information Technology (LivIT) Program.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will 

  • Manage all aspects of support for internal and external audits and data calls as audit liaison.
  • Manage data collection, schedules, and reviews.
  • Coordinate, edit, and review cyber security policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Primary point of contact and coordinator for formal reports for management; assist in the development and maintenance of metrics in support of reporting to management and the Federal authority.
  • Coordinate and review requests for cyber security policy exceptions, deviations, and variances.
  • Contribute to the development and strategy of Cyber Security communication and documentation.
  • Provide support to Cyber Security Program management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the E01.3 level

  • Provide support reviewing and modifying security plans and CSP policy documents and suggest training updates as needed.
  • Lead in the development of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Research and resolve non-routine problems/questions where information is available but may need clarification; analyze a variety of factors to develop solutions.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience providing support to organizational leadership and representing leadership needs to diverse internal and external contacts.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, compliance standards and procedures, including knowledge of business and operations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to effectively interact and represent the CSP both internal and external to the Laboratory.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills necessary to independently identify and recommend appropriate actions and solutions to issues.
  • Proficient organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple and complex tasks.
  • Knowledge of appropriate handling of sensitive and/or classified documents and protection; experience working effectively with sensitive issues and exercising judgment and discretion.
  • Advanced use of computers and a thorough working knowledge of associated software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio; Confluence).

Additional qualifications at the E01.3 level

  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management and staff, visitors, and outside agencies to gather, clarify, and provide information to perform duties of the position.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to foster positive working relationships in a collaborative environment and taking initiative to lead and develop innovative improvements to business processes.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills (both written and verbally) to work independently and as part of a team to effectively explain, direct, present, advise, negotiate, and influence all levels of management, both internal and external to the Laboratory.
