Custom Shop Consultant

We are searching for a Custom Shop Consultant based in Harajuku, Tokyo. As a Custom Shop Consultant at Fender, you drive sales and awareness of our custom shop products and ecosystem. Custom Shop Consultants engage with both new customers who visit our store as well as strengthen relationships with current customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate unforgettable experiences that last a lifetime.
  • Use tools to create new customers, retain current customers and build brand loyalty.
  • Plan, forecast and execute Custom Shop success by using customer relationship management tools.
  • Work with other teams across Fender to lead events, market our products as well as innovate in-store merchandising of the Custom Shop to increase sales.
  • Partner with performing artists and VIP clientele to create solutions that only Fender Flagship can offer.
  • Guiding customers and artists through the process of designing their dream instrument as well as matching them with one of our Master Builders.
  • Support other areas of the store as needed.

Qualifications:

  • You are able to build excitement around Fender Custom Shop while delivering unforgettable customer service experiences for artists, professional musicians, and music enthusiasts alike.
  • Proven ability to engage customers to create and retain a growing customer base through both in-person sales skills as well as relationship management.
  • You are highly skilled at listening, networking, influencing, and interpersonal savvy.
  • You have a deep understanding of the guitar creation process and materials. You also understand how different parts, amps and other factors influence the tone and sound of an instrument.
  • You can play guitar, perform instrument maintenance, and demonstrate the various features and specifications of Fender products to a wide range of customers.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as on the phone and in person.
  • Passionate about interacting with people of all ages and from all backgrounds
  • Willing to learn and Embrace Fender’s approach to customer service
  • Flexibility with work schedule as work hours will depend on business needs
  • Professional communication skills in both Japanese and English with other languages welcome
  • Passionate about music, Fender’s products, and the ability to continuously learn and teach new products and services to your team as well as customers
  • Understanding of CRM and POS systems, Microsoft Office and general technology skills
