Bon Secours Wellness Arena is excited to announce an opening for a part-time Lead Custodian on the 2nd shift. This position is vital in ensuring that our facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The Lead Custodian will oversee the cleaning team during shift.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the custodial staff during the 2nd shift, ensuring adherence to cleaning protocols and schedules.
- Inspect work areas and completed tasks, providing feedback and guidance to staff members.
- Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing all areas of the arena, including restrooms, offices, and public spaces.
- Assist in training new custodial staff and ensure all personnel are following safety regulations.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and communicate with management regarding any needs.
- Handle any custodial-related issues or emergencies that may arise during the shift.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies across the facility.
- Shield company interests and uphold a professional work environment.
Schedule:
- Shift times/days depending on event schedule
- Primarily nights and weekends
- Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Requirements
Experience:
- 1-2 years of custodial or janitorial experience, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Large scale commercial facility cleaning experience preferred
- Proficient knowledge of cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment, and sanitary practices.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Capability to communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and management.
- Proven reliability and ability to work independently.
- Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, not required
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Must be 18 years or older
Physical:
- Medium work; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and frequently lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with custodial duties.

Rate: $16-18 per hour, depending on experience
