The Opportunity
The Curriculum Controls Specialist is considered an integral member of the Office of the Registrar team, the Curriculum Controls Specialist in the area of Curriculum Controls, is responsible for configuring the administrative systems that support the business processes for the student journey. Administrative configurations include those that support the greater enrolment management requirements of SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), including the implementation of the approved program and course curricula, enrolment targets, admission, student, enrolment, fee assessment, course schedule, grading and graduation settings.
The Specialist is a data-driven problem-solver with a strong commitment to quality and maintaining continuous, detailed documentation of business processes. Advanced excel and experience with systematic validation processes will be required. This individual will also be responsible for established policies and procedures impacting the student journey. A high level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain independent consistent focused work for hours on end without a reduction in quality or accuracy is required. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure systems accurately present the requirements to meet institutional timelines, policies and procedures, the specialist will operationalize the procedures in the administrative systems, maintaining accuracy to ensure smooth processes for applicants, students, and staff.

- Knowledge of SAIT academic policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and communicate them to stakeholders
- Configure the student administrative systems to support the SAIT academic procedures

Qualification and Experience
- Minimum
- 2 years post secondary education
- 2 years professional experience
- Preferred
- A 4 year bachelor's degree
- Skills Required
- The ability to become proficient with Banner, Microsoft 365 applications, Modern Campus applications (Curriculog, Acalog, Destiny One), Infosilem scheduling software, and other related technology
- Be knowledgeable on and follow FOIP regulations, always respecting confidentiality, using good note taking practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge and compliance with SAIT safety guidelines, required Job Hazard Analysis and SAIT Safety Policy HS.1.1.
- Effective communication, de-escalation and conflict resolution skills are required
- Strong problem-solving and investigation skills are required
- The ability to analyze information presented through the respective governance processes and provide information to decision makers to ensure sound business decisions are made
