Curing Setup Technician

The Curing Setup Technician is responsible for the mold setup and changes, prepping bladders and assembling bladder and bead ring combinations, removal, and installation of all bladders, cleaning bead rings, clean and vibrate venting in molds, troubleshooting and processing all curing presses and make adjustments to have an effective production run for Truck Tire Curing Presses.

Core Responsibilities:

•  Perform mold and bladder changes as needed.

•  Build and tear down bladders.

•  Tearing down and cleaning segmented molds, drilling molds, and cleaning of molds in press.

•  Perform and adjust squeeze audits, cure cycle audits and cure temperature audits accordingly to specs.

•  Troubleshoot curing presses and make minor emergency adjustments.

•  Ensure serial changes in molds.

•  Perform other duties as directed by the Truck Tire Curing Shift Supervisor, and /or Department   

   Manager.

•  Follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and

   quantity production.

•  Effectively communicate with all leadership team members including Curing Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor/Lead, Shift Superintendent, and other set-up technicians on all production related issues

• Keeping workplace clean and organized daily using 5S standards.

• Assist in six sigma project implementations and Flexibility.

• Must be able to read and understand written and oral instructions as to specs, procedures, tolerances, and various construction and quality requirements.

• Daily in BT1 report on available sprayed bladders, bladder assemblies, know the schedule, report what molds are going to be changed due to cycle counts/quality issues/new introductions, talk to setup techs from previous shift and report all problems (quality, machine, DFTC, etc.)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, twist, climb, frequently.

• Ability to stand for long periods of time

• Ability to lift up to 75lbs. frequently.

Basic Qualifications:

This is a internal only position. External applicants will not be considered.

• High School diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of related work experience in manufacturing

• Experience in Robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics
• Experience with industrial automation equipment
• Willing to work 12-hour rotational shift
• Ability to work in cross cultural settings
• Ability work in a challenging start up environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience in related field

• Experience in Tire Manufacturing

• Forklift driver certification
