About the Role
Salary Range on offer: $79,244 - $91,330 p.a + super
In this permanent full-time role, you will manage and review overall day-to-day operations of the Lark Hill complex and ensure a safe environment for the training, trialing, and track work of horses
Other duties will include:
- Assist in the development and management of operational and capital works budgets, and identify and implement cost efficiencies to achieve cost savings
- Plan, schedule and supervise the maintenance and renovation of the training tracks (fast-work grass track, sand tracks and warm-up track) and establish quick response arrangements
- Consult with track users and other stakeholders and deal with arising complaints or conflict issues
- Inspect Western Australian Thoroughbred racing tracks and training venues and provide advice on track maintenance and preparation when required.
About You
- Trade certificate or equivalent in Turf Management.
- Strong knowledge of the composition of Thoroughbred tracks and general understanding of track characteristics
- Extensive experience in track and grounds management of a thoroughbred training complex
- Substantial knowledge and understanding of the thoroughbred racing industry as related to trials and racing facilities management
- Demonstrated knowledge of track and horse training requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with the operational and safety requirements of relevant track maintenance equipment
- Contemporary working knowledge of machinery & equipment, materials, products and environmental best practices relevant to overall management of the complex
- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
