CT POG OESL - Occupational Safety Engineer

Full-Time

Manage and coordinate all Safety activities for the plant;
Contribute to strategic and operative planning of the plant (e.g. with respect to investments, capacity and headcount planning);
Ensure the achievement of Safety targets according to internal and external customer expectations;
Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities by applying CBS methods and training measures;
Live and promote the Safety principles and methods (e.g. advise Plant Management on all Safety aspects);
Initiate and control investments for Safety equipment (e.g. training materials, external trainings, etc.);
Conduct employee dialogues, personnel development and coaching;
Represent plant at negotiations with responsible authorities concerning Safety;

Follow up on legal regulations and evaluate possible impacts on processes and facilities;
Ensure that all legally required permits are applied for in due time and that permit conditions are evaluated and implemented and advise plant management;
Check compliance with legal and internal regulations/standards/processes and implement measures together with local authorities;
Manage the issuance of environmental assessment reports;
Monitor and advise the expertise process;
Prepare technical reports and challenges in expert and inspection processes;
Coordinate internal commissions, such as CIPA;
Manage, prepare or collaborate with work safety programs, such as PPRA, PCMAT, PGR, PPR);

Ensure that legal training is carried out in accordance with the provisions of legislation (qualification and recycling training);
Manage the entire legal training process (prepare an annual schedule, agree with the areas the training dates, publicize the call);
Issue the driver's license of operators as established in legislation;
Manage the documentation of legal training in case of inspection;
Develop materials for carrying out daily safety dialogues;
Execute workshops and coaching of plant employees and management in order to introduce and develop SH principles and methods throughout the plant’s processes (e.g. safety first, emergency measures, etc;
Develop safety awareness campaigns and enhance safety awareness always;

Ensure local implementation of central ESH standards;
Provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding ESH processes (e.g. workshop concepts, methods, tools, etc.) to stakeholders and involved functions;

Plan and implement emergency and crisis management (e.g. fire, incidents of damage, natural or other exceptional events, etc.) according to standards;
Conduct risk analyses and prepare concepts and emergency preparedness plans
Ensure structured root cause analyses of incidents, analise the definitions (actions propued)showed and check implement;

Operate Safety performance monitoring (e.g. by KPI and target tracking) and identify, prioritize and implement SH improvements (e.g. for work instructions, etc.);

Prepare, review and manage the budget and forecast of Safety cost centers;
Ensure timely submission of financial data to controlling;
Implement and conduct activities according to the budget established;
Ensure that the financial goals are met;

Have legal responsibility for the plant of Ponta Grossa.

Specialization in Occupational Safety registered with the Regional Council of Engineering;

Experience in the occupational safety area;

People management experience preferable;

Fluent English
