About the role:

We are looking for a driven, results-oriented Rooftop Crew Based DFR Crew member to join Skydio’s operational efforts for our Crew Based DFR based team. You will be the onsite, rooftop lead of Skydio’s Crew Based DFR technology by delivering, planning, building, implementing and running operational deployment of their DFR program. A successful candidate for this role will understand the customer’s requirements, Skydio’s specifications, and be flexible to meet their needs within budget. Additionally, you must be comfortable operating in an agile environment and using expert organizational skills to manage field based operations in a variety of environmental conditions. This role reports to the Program Manager of Major Deployments and will work closely with our onsite team, Product, and Engineering functions to reliably deliver industry-leading autonomous Crew Based DFR solutions to the customer.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Coordinate with customer and Skydio Program Manager to ensure dependable 7 day/wk operations
  • Manage the deployment, utilization and maintenance of all Crew Based DFR hardware
  • Ensure timely setup and breakdown of daily rooftop operations
  • Effectively communicate with RPIC and DFR Unit regarding readiness and operational variables
  • Leverage your expert organizational skills to identify risks, dependencies, or resource shortages
  • Be a Crew Based DFR industry expert to lead customers through real time operations while ensuring compliance with FAA, state, and local guidelines and agency conops
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering and training teams to keep all operational and training material updated with the most current information
  • Effectively utilize expert knowledge to deploy to novel locations and train new rooftop crew members

What would make you a good fit:

  • 3+ years of UAS technical experience in utility, inspection, and/or telecommunications applications is required
  • FAA Part 107 Certificate required
  • Excellent knowledge of Crew Based DFR operations
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills to audiences of all levels.
  • Training facilitation experience is required
  • Experience leading training of UAS or other robotic systems with enterprise or government customers is preferred
  • 4 years related professional experience and Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
