Up to £32,500 and up to 20% bonus and benefits
Location: Hybrid based at our Cardiff office

The main purpose of the role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of pricing models, ensuring they align with Group objectives and provide competitive value for our customers. This role will also oversee the commercial performance and implement strategic plans to enhance our pricing and offering.

As a key member of our team, you will ensure the company operates within its credit risk appetite by maintaining and enhancing credit risk reporting and analysis. This includes routine and project work on credit risk performance, producing management information, and supporting the development of credit metrics and risk control projects. The role is pivotal in integrating risk management with pricing strategies to support Tandem's business objectives.

As a Credit Risk Analyst reporting to the Credit and Pricing Manager, you will support all credit risk and pricing activities within the Motor Team. This includes the development, maintenance, and oversight of pricing models, as well as the analysis and reporting of credit risk. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our pricing strategies align with our overall business objectives and that we operate within our credit risk appetite.

The Credit & Pricing team is crucial to Tandem's overall growth and performance. This role provides opportunities to contribute to, and work alongside, the wider Group Credit & Pricing Team, allowing you to play a key role in our company's success and expand your professional development.

Your Impact: Building a greener tomorrow 

As a Credit & Pricing Analyst at Tandem, your focus will be on the following key areas:

Accountability and Performance:

  • Take ownership of your performance and contribute to achieving the KPIs set by the business.
  • Implement a commercial model that ensures our fair and green outcomes are realised for our customers.
  • Ensure the pricing model is commercially viable for our intermediaries and exceeds regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Design and implement reporting systems that enable oversight of intermediary partners in terms of commercial and risk performance, covering both originations and profitability.
  • Support the Group Credit & Pricing team in achieving wider business strategic goals, challenging propositions with a commercial perspective, and identifying improvements to solutions and processes.
  • Demonstrate experience in risk management practices within UK financial services, preferably in analytics or a similar industry (desirable but not essential).
  • Build and manage relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders effectively.
  • Deliver simultaneous, time-pressured tasks and prioritise them effectively.
  • Support the Credit & Pricing Manager with preparation or contribution to Credit & Pricing Committee (or similar) meetings.

Communication and Integrity:

  • Be a confident and professional communicator with strong attention to detail and an analytical approach.
  • Be willing to travel to other offices as required.
  • Ensure that customers are at the forefront of all decisions through regulatory knowledge or understanding.
  • Improve overall customer outcomes by offering informed solutions and competitive pricing, always keeping good customer outcomes in mind.

  • Strong focus on numerical and statistical analysis with practical application skills.
  • Extensive experience in all areas of Credit Risk analytics.
  • Proficient in extracting and manipulating datasets to statistical standards.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, engaging with stakeholders clearly and fairly.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective solution implementation.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance.
  • Commitment to placing customers at the forefront, offering informed solutions and competitive pricing.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to set and achieve own priorities, taking a lead role.
  • Act with integrity and honesty, maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Knowledge of analytical software such as SQL and Python.
  • Highly proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
