We Are Social is a global socially-led creative agency with unrivalled social media expertise. With 1,300 people in 19 offices spanning four continents, we deliver a global perspective to our clients in a time when social media is shaping culture.

We’re proud to be a multi award-winning agency, with Cannes Lions, One Show, Webby and Shorty Awards, to name but a few. Our most recent work has seen us help Pepsi, Meta and Adidas deliver some of their biggest and most innovative campaigns to date, from breaking into the metaverse to smashing records on TikTok. 

As well as creating for clients, we help educate the wider industry. Our Instagram publication The Feed tracks culture at the speed of social. 6,500 people registered or tuned into our events last year, and our reports garnered more than 20 million views.

Do you want to help shape our vision of social and make an impact across the industry?

We are looking for a Creative Director for We Are Social, who guides, inspires and leads the creation of Ideas Worth Talking About. You will actively be a mentor/line manager, director of creatives, and source of solutions and support to your peers across the wider department. You’ll creatively lead practitioners from other disciplines, too – collaborating and directing as necessary. You'll have a honed skill for spotting the ideas that could be nurtured to greatness, and a desire to make new work in new ways – informed by the fast paced culture of social. You will be working across some of the most famous brands in the UK and the wider world, including Kelloggs, Pringles, McCain, and Unilever.

Requirements

What you’ll have delivered elsewhere?

  • Your portfolio will feature striking and award-winning social first work, with a focus on exceeding conventional expectations.
  • Your portfolio demonstrates innovation – playful use of technology and social platforms that have led to industry-recognised work.
  • Proven track record of leading creative development across diverse projects, ranging from bigger campaigns to small and brilliant single activations.
  • Experience ‘owning’ creative projects – from inception to completion.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with and directing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated understanding of brand strategy, actively collaborating with strategists to shape creative briefs.

What else are we looking for?

  • A well-informed creative perspective on the social industry, and a strong sense of what outstanding work looks like.
  • Leadership experience, including managing cross-disciplinary teams and cultivating talent within a creative department, contributing to its growth and development.
  • Skilled in effectively presenting and articulating ideas to both clients and colleagues, fostering engagement and consensus.
