Directive Consulting is the performance marketing agency for SaaS and Tech companies. We use Customer Generation (a marketing methodology developed by us) which focuses on SQLs and Customers instead of traditional metrics like MQLs. We offer Paid Media, SEO, Performance Creative, and Video to our clients by creating comprehensive digital marketing strategies that allow our clients to hit their SQL targets, every time.

The Creative Director, Digital Design + CRO is a leadership role responsible for spearheading the agency's CRO offering, managing a team of data focused designers, driving UX best practices to ensure conversions and fostering client relationships in order to retain and grow our clients. 

Reporting directly to the VP, Performance Marketing, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to increase conversion rates, improve user satisfaction, and drive revenue growth for our clients.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Team Stewardship: The Director of CRO Design is directly responsible for building department culture and motivating their team of data driven designers to consistently deliver strong CRO strategies, testing schedules and reporting for their clients and facilitating team trainings when necessary. In order to support this pillar they will hold meetings including: Department meeting each week and Bi-Weekly Meetings with designers
  • Client Strategy and Testing Methodology: Oversee the development and execution of tailored CRO strategies for clients, aligning with their unique business goals and industry benchmarks by supporting the design and oversee A/B tests and multivariate experiments for clients. This role will also act as the senior trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations to clients based on data-driven analyses and market trends when needed in high value client moments
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with our Paid Media, SEO and Content teams to ensure CRO efforts are integrated into broader digital marketing strategies. You will also ensure testing methodologies are being adhered to, in order to maintain consistency in our offering and results for clients
  • Technology Management and Evolution: Take stock of our technologies and systems, and emerging CRO technologies and tools, evaluating their relevance and potential impact on client success as well as implementing and managing CRO tools and platforms for clients, optimizing efficiency and performance
  • P&L: As the CEO of your department, Directors must oversee department budget, including software + staffing and resource requirements to maintain healthy gross margins, utilization rates, and MRR per consultant. A part of ensuring a healthy P&L will be assisting with new business pitches and increasing net revenue month over month

Goals:

  • Contract Renewal Rate: 65%
  • Drive Demand for your offering by reaching a “Proposals Held” target of 10 per month
  • Achieving Gross Margin Target of 55%

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (6+ years) in a Director-level or higher position such as CRO Director or Creative Director, in a performance agency environment
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Mastery in CRO and Design software and tools, such as Figma, Webflow, Unbounce (or similar) with a distinct POV of their efficacy
  • Experience leading/managing a financially healthy P&L, with recommendations for achieving targets
  • Exceptional creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a strong track record of developing innovative ideas.
  • In-depth knowledge of performance marketing metrics and the ability to apply them to campaigns to drive desired outcomes.
  • Proficiency in proposal preparation and presentation, with a strong ability to articulate ideas and value propositions to clients.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members.

Work Environment Requirements
As a remote-first company, you’ll have the ability to work from anywhere in the US, with the option to enjoy our state-of-the-art offices in Irvine, California. For some positions, as posted, we will accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses, including Canada, the UK, and Australia. For global locations, you must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.

This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication, must have reliable internet access, and a professional background.
