FinTech Platform Engineering is an organization whose primary goal is to make coupang.com the most convenient platform for making online payments. In 2015, we launched Rocket Pay (now renamed as ‘Coupay’) that dramatically simplified the payment process, which has helped to increase conversion rate and achieve a significant increase of our customers’ wallet share. Although millions of customers are subscribing to our Coupay service, we have never stopped innovating. Recently, we introduced “one-touch payment” feature to Coupay, enabling our customers to access faster and more convenient payment experience.
FinTech SRE is an engineering team in Coupang Pay that works to improve system stability for the success of our Fintech business teams.
Key responsibilities: Develop platforms that enhance the stability, productivity and visibility of FinTech systems
- Build Coupang’s next generation FinTech Infrastructure & Platform to achieve zero-downtime
- Design and implement the framework and API/data routing strategies to achieve Micro-services
- Design HA/DR Architecture (clustering, replication, etc.)
- Design and perform tests to ensure reliability
- Develop observability and anomaly detection feature
- Develop platforms that allow automatic recovery in the event of a service error
- Develop platforms that enhance inter-service visibility
- Develop platforms that enhance productivity in a segregated network environment
- Analyze service vulnerabilities and make improvements
- Jointly respond with the development teams in the event of a system error / conduct analysis to come up with measures to prevent recurrence errors
- Identify best practices and share them within the team
Basic Qualifications:
- A team player!
- 6+ years of Unix/Linux-based software engineering experience
- 5+ years of backend architecture design and operation experience
- Strong coding skill - OOP and scripting language
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software development experience in a fintech organization
- Cloud background (docker, K8S and AWS/ Google/ Azure)
- Experience in the company-wide application of API Gateway and Service Mesh
- Strong Java, Distributed systems, Micro-services, Messaging services, Observability
- 2+ years of SRE experience

- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
