The goal of the Country Manager South Korea is to build a profitable double million digit $ business in the next 2 years. You will hire and groom a team, drive outstanding business outcomes, leveraging and localizing the regional and global best practices and resources we have.
This role offers a unique opportunity to try your hands at managing a business unit autonomously and shape the future of a major market in APAC.
What You'll Do:
- You are the owner of the Korean P&L, ensuring top-line growth & bottom-line profitability.
- You build and lead your own team of business developers and marketers. You are a role model for Emma, leading and empowering teams to perform at their best. You are collaborating and challenging with multiple teams across our offices.
- You display strong entrepreneurship: you take a business at a nascent stage, leverage the knowledge and expertise we built in product development, marketing and ecommerce globallyand craft a unique go-to-market for South Korea.
- You form hypotheses, test, look at the data and iterate. You act on a diverse set of levers, ranging from brand positioningto product pricing, media strategy, ecommerce execution, logistic offering, creativeapproach and people strategy. Over time, you develop a deep understanding of how the business should be run and scaled in Korea.
- You will be an active force to drive business development initiatives, online and offline sales and growth strategies across E-Commerce platforms.
- Identify, build value case, analyses, and reports regarding growth initiatives that contribute to significant sales.
Who We're Looking For:
- You have +5 years in the field(s) of marketing, business development, strategy consulting, finance. E-commerce experience is a plus.
- You have +2 years of experience in team leadership. You love to hire, mentor, and develop a local team of talented individuals.
- You are fluent in Korean and in English.
- You know the Korean market and consumer. Knowing the Korean media landscape is a plus.
- You have a track record of successfully identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, fostering partnerships, and driving revenue growth.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset: Ability to thrive in a 0-to-1 environment. To start a business from scratch, to pragmatically prioritize initiatives and grow it in a lean fashion. Previous experience in launching and scaling a startup would be a significant advantage.
- You are a strategic problem solver: Craft long-term plans while managing short-term execution.
- You are a strong operator: Steer the business efficiently, ensuring profitability while driving growth. You know how to manage a P&L.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying and addressing challenges in a proactive and creative manner.
