Country Manager / Head of Sales Japan

Nexthink seeks a results-driven Country Manager to launch and lead our Japanese business, focusing on selling enterprise software solutions to large organizations. As a key leader, you will use your expertise to build Nexthink's presence and drive consistent revenue growth in Japan's dynamic market.

In this position, you will manage and supervise business operations. Your job will include establishing and maintaining professional relationships with new clients, partners, government agencies, and other parties to ensure the successful growth of Nexthink in Japan. You will also research and analyze market opportunities, identify potential target audiences, and establish business proposals. Ultimately, you will manage budgets, create business plans, and regularly report to upper management.

What You Will Own:

  • Achieve sales goals and targets for the Nexthink business in Japan.
  • Ensure the company's goals and objectives align with the local market conditions, customer needs, and regulatory environment.
  • Establish and oversee operating budgets and create annual business plans.
  • Develop and monitor strategy, budget, revenue, and sales process to grow ARR and close opportunities.
  • Develop and implement marketing, sales, and event strategies.
  • Identifying and resolving any issues or challenges that may arise in the region.
  • Leverage the broader Nexthink organization and customer base in support of growth.
  • Take a consultative approach with customers by recognizing their challenges and developing future strategies to drive Nexthink solutions.
  • Development of support teams to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Provide input and guidance on the continued evolution of the GTM strategy in Japan.

 Responsibilities:

  • Establish teams, recruit individuals, and retain an all-star team.
  • Inspire, coach, and support teams, ensuring successful onboarding and performance standards.
  • Consistently deliver revenue targets – ensuring company revenue goals and objectives are achieved quarterly and yearly.
  • Precisely forecast quarterly and annual revenue numbers for the Adopt business unit.
  • Develop and manage marketing and sales strategies and increase brand recognition.
  • Establish business proposals and negotiate business deals and pricing.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, such as financial controls, accounting, human resources, etc.
  • Manage contract negotiations.
  • Navigate the customer organizational structures to develop strategic C-level relationships.
  • Create & articulate compelling value propositions aligned to the Japanese market.
  • Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks in business unit development. Represent Nexthink at relevant events, conferences, QBRs, and more, enhancing Nexthink's brand presence and visibility.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities within Japan to guide strategic decision-making.

 What You Need to Succeed:

  • 10+ years of experience in consultative selling at the C-level for an enterprise SaaS solution.
  • 10+ years of experience leading an organization in Japan.
  • Goal-oriented, driven, and quick to establish credibility.
  • Proven experience selling disruptive technology within a Direct and Indirect Partner Ecosystem.
  • Ability to thrive in a growing and evolving culture and build high-performing teams.
  • Curiosity for uncovering and addressing market needs.
  • Robust leadership and influencing skills to build internal and external business partnerships.
  • Skilled at business planning and achiever at measuring and communicating progress towards the plan, identifying roadblocks, and coming up with appropriate solutions.
  • Highly professional persona and polished demeanor.
  • Proficient in speaking and writing. Skilled at presenting information to executives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, business management, marketing, or a similar field.
  • Previous working experience in management roles within the IT industry.
  • A general knowledge base of the Japanese economy.
  • Superb communication, collaboration, and networking skills.
  • Exemplary research and analytical skills.
  • A strategic mind with solid comprehension of budgeting and financial planning.
  • Based in Tokyo, with a willingness to travel and fluency in English.
  • Experience in identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing deals.
  • Experience in positioning technology and selling it to new customers and market segments.
  • Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation.
