Kepak Kensington Counters are looking for a Butcher Shop Counter Assistant to join our team on a temporary seasonal basis, working a standard week of 40 hours per week. The working hours are 8am-5pm and days will vary based on a rota.

Pay rate - £13 per hour

Role Purpose
To assist in the excellent customer service delivery and experience of the Shop, promoting our brand, understanding our products and offering guidance and recommendations on products whilst complying with relevant food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently take customer orders
  • Prepare food to required standards checking for taste, presentation, and quality
  • Maintain relevant records
  • Minimize product wastage
  • Maintain required hygiene standards in all areas of the shop, including regular deep cleans
  • Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on products (how to cook, type of cuts etc)
  • Identify upselling opportunities
  • Positively contribution to Shop weekly sales targets
  • Process orders through till correctly
  • Restock fresh meat and pre-prepared counters with products
  • Undertake stock checks and rotations as required
  • Complete opening and closing procedures of Shop
  • Complete and maintain hygiene standards and processes for counters, Shop, and food preparation areas
  • Undertake food preparation duties, such as preparing burgers to recipe, dicing meat, preparing marinades etc
  • Ensure all food preparation is carried out in accordance with food hygiene procedures

  • Ability to multitask and work under own initiative to deliver to deadlines
