We are seeking a skilled Senior Cost Engineer to join the Carrington project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, budgeting, and project cost forecasting to ensure the successful and efficient delivery of this cutting-edge project, aimed at reducing renewable energy waste and providing clean, reliable, and cost-efficient long-duration energy storage.
How you will make an impact:
· Develop and maintain cost management processes and systems for the project.
· Development of work breakdown structures (WBS) and producing the control budget for the project.
· Assign the control budget through an organisational structure (OBS).
· Monitor budgets, commitments, value of work done (VoWD), Invoices, forecasts and variances in the form of a cost system (report) by the WBS.
· Establishing cost plans and S curves using project schedules highlighting plan, actual and forecast costs.
· Implement a Value of Work Done (VoWD) process for different phases of the project (engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning). Input the VoWD into company SAP system through goods service receipt
· Managing a cost trend database for variance analysis against the control budget and project forecasting. Presenting cost trends to obtain project management approval for costs to be included in the forecast.
· Coordination of change control meetings and validate cost estimates for approved changes and update control budgets and quantities within the cost system.
· Coordinate and participate in the project risk reviews.
· Report contingency usage and use project risk information to review forecast contingency usage.
· Work with company Finance to ensure the cost information in SAP for the project is accurate
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to align project objectives and financial goals.
· Support procurement processes, including preparing cost estimates, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.

Requirements
· Degree in Engineering, Construction or related field.
· Proven 10 years’ experience as a Senior Cost Engineer working on projects within the energy industry.
· Strong knowledge of cost management methodologies and tools, with a focus on large-scale engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning projects.
· Proficient in cost engineering software and SAP including Excel, PowerPoint etc.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
