The High Voltage battery and related sub-system Cost Engineer, under the authority of the Cost Engineering Propulsion High voltage battery manager, is accountable for design, technical, industrial and economical knowledge of electronics and electro-mechanical components used for battery management system, Battery disconnection Units and battery thermal management production.
More in general, he is accountable on cost evaluation and Design to Cost of electro-mechanical components used on electrified vehicles (BEV, PHEV, HEV, MHEV).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain state-of-the-art technical and economical knowledge on power electronic design, also through continuous contacts / visits with Stakeholders (Engineering, Tier 1&2 Suppliers)
- Maintain state-of-the-art technical and economical knowledge on electronic, electrical pumps and BDUs parts for BEV Tier 1, again with continuous contacts with external Stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge on main evolutions and technologies.
- Manage a structured Data Base of procured parts (technical and economical attributes)
- Release Should Cost evaluation of Tier 1 parts together with GWP impact through PBD (Price Break Down) analysis and calculation.
- Operate in tight conjunction with Engineering, Project and Purchasing to reach a competitive process cost in compliance with all technical, time and quality requirements (Design to Cost)
Interfaces:
- With Tier 1 Suppliers for technical negotiation and Design to Cost
- With Tier 2 Suppliers for electronic and magnetic parts technical & economical knowledge
- With Engineering (Chief Engineer) for support on cost evaluations and Design to Cost
- With Purchasing and Value Optimization Team for support on technical negotiation with Suppliers during Sourcing and Change Management process relative to both ongoing development and Serial Life
- With GWP Team for CO2 breakdown analysis / calculation
- Direct work experience in Electronics & E-pumps design
- Deep knowledge of: Power Electronics architecture & design, Semiconductors and Magnetics, technology & materials, PCB production process
- Deep knowledge in Die casting processes, stamping process, Flexible printed circuits (FPC) • Master’s degree in Electric / Electro-mechanical Engineering
- Attitude to Team working & Negotiation (Global Team)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills (Global Team)
- English Language & MS Tools
