Corporate Reporting Accountant

Why we're hiring:

The group has a vacancy for a capable, motivated candidate to help us deliver exceptional financial management and reporting services in respect of our Netherlands holding companies. This role is for a period of six months.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • External and management reporting; and
  • Providing support in respect of day to day activities including M&A transactions (involving liaison with WPP colleagues, banks and third party advisors).

Statutory reporting:

  • Manage the preparation of annual reports; and
  • Liaising with other group finance teams and the Group’s third party tax consultants to ensure timely submission of corporate income tax returns.

WPP management accounting:

  • Undertake end-to-end management accounting including journals postings, bank postings and bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, back up calculations and all SoX related controls compliance;
  • Reporting in the group’s ERP system;
  • Reporting includes: Monthly flash reporting, monthly actuals reporting, quarterly actuals, quarterly forecasts, quarterly reforecasts, annual budget, annual budget up-date, annual pro-forma, annual pro-forma updates and intercompany reporting; and
  • Journals include bank/intercompany interest and accruals, dividends and M&A transactions.

 

What you'll need:

  • Experience in a Finance function producing Dutch statutory accounts for multiple entities.
  • Experience of reporting under Dutch GAAP/IFRS and in a SOX control environment.
  • Qualified accountant (relevant HBO or WO education) with strong accounting skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office at intermediate to advanced level), particularly MS Excel, which should be intermediate/advanced (pivot tables; conditional formatting etc.).
  • Experience using accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Managing of own workload and that of the team to ensure consistent service levels.
  • There may also be a requirement to work additional hours occasionally due to tight deadlines and month-end processes.
