Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated Corporate Paralegal to support the Legal Department. Their primary focus will be documentation management, licensing, insurance renewals and requests, legal form drafting as well as handling day to day clerical and administrative tasks. Milhouse was founded in 2001, and provides a variety of professional engineering, construction, and general contracting services. 

We are looking for a dynamic candidate who is comfortable in a professional environment, and has experience within the corporate and legal industries. The individual in this position would report directly to the Corporate Counsel as a part of the Legal Department.

What you will do:

  • Document management and maintenance, including organization of physical and digital files.
  • Assist with the document controls audits.
  • Preparing resources and scheduling trainings.
  • Monitoring schedules and calendars, remaining cognizant of deadlines.
  • Handling of all licensing matters, including obtaining and maintaining various licenses across the family of companies and within our various jurisdictions.
  • Drafting and editing correspondences and other legal documentation.
  • Drafting form agreements for review.
  • Preparation and coordination of meetings.
  • Working with outside counsel and our insurance brokers to obtain documentation that is requested.
  • Responding to requests for certificates of insurance, and maintaining our database for the same, RMIS.
  • Working with other team members and departments on projects or assignments.
  • Insurance applications and renewals for the family of companies.
  • Participating in project kick-off and close-out meetings as a representative of the legal department.
  • Court filings.
  • Proposal information requests.
  • Assist in the insurance claims process.

Your background:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3-4 years of experience in a corporate legal environment and/or law firm.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
