Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
Based in our newly refurbished Wellington head office, as Corporate Model Lead you’ll own the Contact financial model and work closely with the CFO, Head of Wholesale Finance & Financial Control, finance leaders, investor relations, and other team members to plan, analyse, and provide insights regarding Contact’s financial performance.
Reporting to our soon-to-be-appointed Corporate Finance Manager, you’ll build and maintain driver-based models that provide the basis for our reporting, forecasting, and planning processes. You’ll also provide an external perspective on Contact, tracking the perspectives of investors, managing external competition analysis, and monitoring industry trends that could impact company performance, driving decision-making through robust financial analysis and strategic insights.

We’re looking for a modelling guru, somebody technically astute with an expert-level understanding of corporate finance and valuation-related concepts who not only can create and build models, processes and solutions from scratch, but loves to. Ideally, you’ll have gained this experience in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, backed up by a Bachelor’s Degree with extensive quantitative coursework in economics, finance, statistics and the like.
Along with a strong professional knowledge & experience in all aspects of financial planning and analysis, economic and financial modelling, you’ll have great analytical and problem-solving skills, able to think strategically and creatively, apply business acumen, and exercise good judgment. You’re intellectually curious, always keen to understand the “why”, and love starting new insightful kōrero (conversations). You’re all about growth > fixed mindset and are highly productive and efficient, able to thrive managing multiple projects under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
It would be great if you’ve worked in the Energy sector before, but not necessary - we’re happy to provide training on that side of things and would love to see a variety of backgrounds.
