Corporate Governance Specialist

Good customer outcomes is a core part of our Strategic Business Plan, and Corporate Support underpins this, providing value to our stakeholders by working across the business to build strategies, promote good and consistent systems and processes, and visualise the results.

Over time, this role could grow to include a wider remit – encompassing additional committee oversight, annual requirements planning and external/internal reporting co-ordination.

We are looking for individual who really wants to “make a role their own” and who has a genuine interest in developing their career within the role and organisation.

The role in a nutshell:

  • Overseeing effective functioning of TFSUK’s governance framework, including co-ordinating and shaping key committee and forum meetings and the information flows between them.
  • Controlling the cycle of strategic planning activities, and providing central guardianship of all information flows to external bodies.
  • The role is vital to ensuring a transparent environment of creative problem solving, action and accountability at TFSUK, to support corporate excellence through growth, protection and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Creating and overseeing the annual planning cycle, including for key committees and forums, Hoshin, One Plan, MTBP, Operational Resilience and Consumer Duty Board Reporting.
  • Ensuring that Chairs and Nominees are engaged and that committees and forums are operating in line with their Terms of Reference.
  • Organise effectiveness reviews of governance frameworks, committees, forums, and/or processes (e.g. operational resilience annual planning and reporting).
  • Providing recommendations for improvement, and for new systems and processes to help achieve our objectives efficiently, or to remove friction / blockers.
  • Controlling and co-ordinating what goes to external bodies including to the FCA, Regulatory reporting and RFI’s.
  • Co-ordinating and provide a central best-practice hub for Nominees to ensure quality and consistency of approach.

Requirements

Experience & Skills:

  • Highly organised, efficient and disciplined.
  • Ability to express yourself clear and persuasively to colleagues at all levels.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficient in a range of tools to effectively design, co-ordinate and hold yourself and others accountable to a detailed and efficient framework of activities.
  • Strong people co-ordination skills.
  • Continuous attention to detail.
  • Great written skills, with the ability to articulate and summarise diverse and detailed topics succinctly and appropriately for a range of audiences.
  • Ability to motivate others and to deliver difficult messages where required.
