Corporate Development and M&A is a critical function at Nielsen, and a key function for shaping enterprise-wide forward-looking strategy. Our team acts as a key advisor to the Leadership Team and our private financial Sponsor owners by framing key choices, providing a well-reasoned point of view, and ensuring choices are made and effectively translated into action.
We are looking for a driven and curious strategic mind to join our Corporate Development team to deliver on our Enterprise goals. The Analyst role in Corporate Development and Strategy will be both a strategic and analytical position to support directors of corporate development and serve as a thought partner to leaders across the business, in pursuit of inorganic growth opportunities.
The ideal person will have strategic thinking and depth of business acumen, as well as a highly developed set of analytical, influencing, and project management skills.
This position will gain exposure across the company and will join a driven, creative, and enthusiastic team focused on positioning Nielsen for its next wave of growth.
Nielsen's Corporate Development team is seeking an Analyst/Sr. Analyst to join the team to help support Nielsen's key strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for early career candidates with backgrounds in corporate finance, investment banking, corporate strategy, or management consulting.
Responsibilities
- Due Diligence: Assist in the due diligence process for acquisitions and divestitures, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.
- Market Research: Conduct thorough research to identify potential acquisition targets and evaluate market trends.
- Manage Inbounds: Evaluate and prioritize inbound M&A pitches
- Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial modeling and valuation of opportunities, including discounted cash flow analysis and sensitivity analysis.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to gather necessary information and support integration processes post-acquisition.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Experience: 2-5 years in corporate finance, corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or investment banking.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in financial modeling, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $66,000 - $225,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
