We’re looking for a Copywriter to join our growing Brand and Marketing Design team. Karbon is scaling up and it’s an exciting time for our brand and marketing effort, so with the right talent and attitude, you can expect the role and opportunities to evolve rapidly.

Reporting to the Design Director of Brand and Marketing and working closely with the wider marketing team, this role is responsible for the writing and editing of copy to support Karbon’s marketing effort.

You'll collaborate on a wide range of exciting brand and marketing creative initiatives. Karbon is a thought leader in the accounting space, producing a leading-edge online magazine, global webinars, and social campaigns. There’s huge momentum in the business and our space, so the marketing design opportunities are endless. You won’t be starting from scratch, but there is lots of potential to make this role your own and grow it in a way that makes sense for Karbon, our audience, and you.

 

About you

We are looking for a copywriter located and able to work in Sydney, NSW, Australia. We are also considering candidates in the AEST time zone or adjacent, including New Zealand.

You're the right person for this role if you have:

  • 3 to 5 years professional experience in brand and marketing copywriting
  • An understanding that great copy is both an art and a science. You understand the objective of each project and write with precision to achieve an end goal and drive measurable outcomes.
  • An ability to deeply understand an audience and adapt your writing to suit them
  • An ability to get a point across succinctly without using jargon or fluff
  • Ability to turn around copy quickly and help manage the editing and approval process
  • Outstanding communication and organization skills
  • Maturity to discuss work critically
  • Familiarity with current AI tools and methods for streamlining the creative process
  • A drive to learn, develop, and expand your skill set
  • B2B software subject matter experience preferred

 

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Writing, editing and adapting written copy for a variety of channels and platforms including the Karbon website, paid advertising, social media, video scripts, collateral, email and more
  • Adapting written content to suit different audiences, segments and personas
  • Becoming an expert in how accountants talk, think, and the challenges that keep them up at night
  • Generating ideas for campaigns and social content
  • Partnering with the Sales team to adapt marketing content for use in outbound sales emails and phone scripts
  • Contributing to discussions and analysis of written copy performance, optimization and testing
  • Understanding, shaping and writing in our Karbon brand tone and voice, and being an internal champion to ensure colleagues across the organization do the same
