SUMMARY

To provide students an internship opportunity where they can gain real-world experiences with a fully integrated, digitally savvy ad agency, specifically with our Account Management, Strategy, Business Development, Creative, Media, and Project Management teams. We aim to create more opportunities for growing diverse talent to have exposure, experience, and access to jobs within the marketing and advertising space. While the internship is for a semester (3-6 months), some have established a career at The Shipyard. Creative and curious students interested in marketing, advertising, communications, project management, or data analytics are encouraged to apply through our careers page.

We truly believe that a hands-on learning approach is essential to the success of our interns, therefore, we require candidates to be able to work on-site in our San Diego office.

The expectation is that ethis intern will work approximately 20-25 hours per week. The internship will take place over the duration of the summer. Students will be compensated $20-22 per hour for their participation in this program.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Get immersive and hands-on experience working with senior and ACD-level copywriters at an award-winning agency with great clients. You will be assisting senior-level copywriters with a variety of writing projects from social to naming to larger concepting opportunities. If appropriate, you will also get to experience with still and live-action shoot preproduction and concepting. You will be paired with other intern art directors for concepting opportunities.

Clients include travel & tourism, hotel/resort, utility, and advocacy groups.
