Forbes Marketplace is looking for a Copy Editor with updating experience across a variety of topics, including personal finance, health, home, and small business to join the team.

We’re looking to grow and streamline our updating and editing processes across the organization, and we want to help guide our readers to make the best choices through best-ofs, product reviews, engaging content and data- and SEO-driven journalism. Responsibilities:

  • Manage updating and copy-editing content across a variety of topics, following the Forbes style guides
  • Work with the Copy Desk Chief to refine style guides and best practices for the editorial team, including content, templates, imagery, and social media standards
  • Leverage data and SEO best practices to follow update and review cadences for our library of new and existing content
  • Improve the quality of our editorial content, ensuring it’s accurate, clear, consistent and up to date
  • Provide feedback to editors and writers in order to help grow editorial standards and practices
  • Work collaboratively with the global editorial team, managing updates as needed across topics
  • Fact-check, edit and produce error-free, best-in-class editorial content
  • Brainstorm and contribute to social content where needed


Requirements:

  • At least 3 years experience on a related copy desk
  • 3-5 years of experience in online journalism
  • Demonstrably strong understanding of AP Style
  • Experience with SEO best practices, willingness to learn and expand SEO skills
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Nimble and open to quick changes in strategy
