Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s three Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
The Lead Civil/Structural/Architectural is responsible for the technical oversight of all civil/structural activities on the project.
Responsibilities:
- Review EPC Contractors Inspection and Test Plans for each major CSA activity
- Review EPC Contractors engineering deliverables, field installations and completion of associated documentation.
- Review EPC Contractors quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting for all civil/structural quantities.
- Review EPC Contractors construction estimates.
- Review responses prepared by EPC Contractors for field change documentation and as-built documentation as required.
- Interface with construction to resolve design and constructability issue.
- Assist civil field engineers and superintendents in constructability and quality issues.
- Work with the suppliers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
- Review EPC Contractors material requisitions, coordinate and review vendor drawings.
- Work with EPC’s and Owner’s Procurement's and expediting team to ensure the delivery of vendor materials to support the projects schedule.
- Able to Interpret design drawings as per latest code and specification requirements.
- Assist construction in ensuring that materials are stored properly to ensure environmental protection.
- Reviews specifications, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data.
- Recommend design or installation improvements to improve safety on the project
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.
- 15 years minimum field civil/structural engineering experience with at least 5 years in a lead role.
- Understanding of applicable Industry work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of ASCE, CII, OSHA, CFR, IBC, AISC, AWS, NFPA and FERC codes and requirements.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Excellent communication and problem solving ability
