COOK – TEMPORARY
We are looking for passionate, experienced culinary individuals looking to join our culinary team! We have a number of food service outlets and formats serving our workforce. As a line cook, you are expected to provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in the designated outlets in accordance with departmental and company standards along with management expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines
- Provide courteous and informative customer service in an "open kitchen" format, while ensuring that assigned station is stocked and clean
- Follow restaurant guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance, and equipment/space cleaning requirements at all times
- Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
POSITION DETAILS:
This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.
- LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months (permanent hire conversion is possible based on performance and business need)
- LOCATION: Cape Canaveral, FL
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 2+ years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High-volume cooking experience
- Experience with daily changing menus
- Current and valid SERV Safe or Food Handler's card or equivalent
- Friendly customer service attitude
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
- Ability to work one of the following shifts:
- Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting of objects are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Ability to work 52-60 hours per week
- Weekend availability
- Ability to work holidays
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to work in continuously-standing position for 5+ hours
- Ability to work with hands continuously: chop, stir, scrape, scrub
- Ability to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Level 1: $21.00/hour
Level 2: $23.00/hour
Level 3: $25.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for potential discretionary bonuses.
