The Control Framework Programme Manager is responsible for programme-managing the delivery of ASOS’ transformation project to meet UK Corporate Governance Code requirements for internal controls – the ASOS Controls Programme (ACP) – which was set up over a year ago. This role will ensure effective project management, stakeholder engagement, and the successful execution of the Group's wider implementation programme.
In addition, the role will be a key advisor to the Group’s Technology and Operational teams across the business in relation to the programme, ensuring programme timelines are delivered in line with desired outcomes.
Working closely with Internal Audit and Risk, Group Finance and the wider programme steering group, the role includes the setting of forward agendas, tracking programme actions, dependencies and milestones, and the identification and escalation of programme risks.
The Details
Programme Management:
- Oversee the programme execution, ensuring timely delivery of milestones, managing risks, and mitigating issues.
- Own and maintain detailed roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables for the programme.
- Develop and implement robust governance and reporting structures to track progress, identify and address programme risks, and communicate updates to senior leadership.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Technology, ESG teams, Internal Audit and Risk and external advisors, to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
- Act as a key ambassador to the senior leadership team on technology and operational controls, specifically translating the requirements of the programme and coordinating input to the ACP steering committee.
Operational & Technology Controls Advisory:
- Provide subject matter expertise on operational and technology controls, guiding the implementation of efficient, compliant, and scalable control frameworks.
- Collaborate with various business units to embed the controls framework across operations, ensuring the integration of processes, technology, and risk management.
- Training to relevant teams as required.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration across departments to ensure programme success.
- Champion the programme across the organisation, communicating the importance of controls and risk management to operational and financial stakeholders.
- Plan and lead regular meetings with the ACP steering committee, providing clear and concise updates on programme status, risks, and next steps.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
- Work alongside the Senior Finance Manager – Controls Assurance and external advisors to ensure compliance with UK Corporate Governance Code requirements.
- Implement a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and embedding process efficiencies and automated control mechanisms.
- Support the business through change management initiatives, ensuring the sustainability of controls beyond implementation.
- Proven experience in programme management, particularly in relation to controls assurance or risk management in a listed company environment.
- Experience with implementing and advising on control frameworks, risk management practices, and business process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks such as COSO or SOX, and the UK Corporate Governance Code.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Prince2, APM, ACA, CIMA etc).
