We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to spearhead the development and maintenance of our core electrical controls architecture. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in integrating new features, resolving challenges during product deployment, and ensuring seamless operations in the field. Reporting to our Hardware Engineering Manager, you'll join a dynamic team of like-minded individuals dedicated to shaping the future of manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

  • Revise and enhance electrical schematics and layout drawings to optimize functionality.
  • Specify and seamlessly integrate third-party equipment into existing systems.
  • Craft precise PLC code for automated equipment and robotic weld cells, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Proficiently program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and servos to meet project requirements.
  • Utilize schematics and multimeters to troubleshoot electrical controls effectively.
  • Actively participate in mechanical and electrical design reviews, offering valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive I/O lists, cable sheets, and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
  • Engage in risk assessments and evaluate safety devices to uphold industry standards.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support throughout all project phases, including customer assistance.
  • Travel to client facilities for equipment installation and commissioning, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.

Who You Are

  • Possess 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing electrical controls systems, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry best practices.
  • Proficient in Studio 5000 Logix design software, with a proven track record of successful project implementation.
  • Skilled in working with Allen-Bradley and Siemens safety PLCs, ensuring adherence to rigorous safety standards.
  • Experienced in navigating Yaskawa robots and Miller welding equipment, optimizing performance and reliability.
  • Ability to proficiently develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts, ensuring efficient system operation.
  • Familiarity with robot software and communication methodology, facilitating seamless integration and communication.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% to client sites, demonstrating commitment to project success.
