Controller

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial and accounting operations of our company. This role will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, compliance, and internal controls to ensure financial stability and support business growth. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance, with excellent analytical and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP / IFRS and other relevant standards

Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures

Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports

Manage and optimize cash flow, treasury, and financial planning

Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes

Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting

Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, ensuring best practices in financial operations

Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations

Implement financial systems and process improvements to enhance efficiency

Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax authorities as needed

Qualifications & Skills

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA/CMA preferred)

• 5+ years of experience in accounting and controllership roles

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong leadership and communication skills to interact with executives and stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Advanced English Only
• Experience working with US companies
• Living in Guadalajara and open to hybrid
