This position is responsible for financial analyses and supporting the Executive and Operations teams.

Essential Functions

1. Responsible for cash management and guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

2. Responsible for protection of assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

3. Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors. Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data, and preparation of special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. Compliant with federal, state, and local legal requirements. Creates forms, financial spreadsheets, and other necessary tools to effectively carry out duties herein.

4. Direct cash management operations including daily cash administration and management of current accounts and bank relations. Reviews and drives improvements in cash management, ensuring financial obligations are met in accordance with company policies and procedures.

5. Develops, improves, and issues timely monthly financial records for review by the VP, Finance.

6. Responsible for preparation of budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommending plans.

7. Interfaces with outside audit firm(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), worker’s compensation agent(s) and collection agencies.

8. Interfaces with Executive Directors and Regional Managers to ensure outstanding receivables are kept to a minimum and policies and procedures are followed. Advises when uncollectible reserves are necessary. Reports to Executive Team monthly on status of the same at each community.

9. Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting/Finance Department. Direct supervision of the Accounting Manager.

10. Provides financial analysis tools to evaluate performance. Works on special projects, programs, capital expenditure planning, etc. when necessary.

11. Daily communications of any information necessary or requested in the normal course of business with communities in a timely manner.

12. Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree or higher required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred in Business or a field related to the position.
  • Must have proven experience in the Controller role of at least five years, in accounting roles of at least ten years. Must have proven managerial experience of at least five years.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal and mediation skills.
  • Excellent english level.
  • Operating office machines: including personal computer, calculator, and facsimile. Operation of Sage, ACCPAC, Peachtree, and QBE accounting systems. Operation of UltiPro and ADP HRIS systems.
  • Self-motivated and has the ability to work independently and make decisions.
