POSITION SUMMARY
The Controller for Feeding South Florida® (FSF) is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial and accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health and stability of the company by supervising daily accounting functions, developing and maintaining internal controls, and providing strategic financial insights. The Controller will collaborate with all senior management to support financial planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, complying with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage all accounting functions including overseeing month-end and year-end closings and financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing and managing company and department budgets, financial forecasts, and analysis to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Ensure proper management of all company expenses.
- Oversee management of the company’s cash flow including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliation.
- Oversee grant accounting and reporting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of all financial reporting and compliance with regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Craft, distribute, and enforce finance and accounting policies.
- Liaise with external auditors to support internal/external audits and ensure the company is prepared for audits with documentation, policy, and policy adherence.
- Lead and guide a team of accounting professionals including hiring, training, coaching, and development, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations and reporting.
