This is an engagement through Upwork's Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork's business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

As our Senior Salesforce Developer, you will play a vital role within the Enterprise Revenue Operations team at Upwork. Our Salesforce instance is the cornerstone of our Enterprise Sales team and keeping the organization's short and long term interests in mind is critical in your day to day work. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of all enterprise program requests that connect to Salesforce and related revenue systems that integrate with our Salesforce instance. You will work alongside our Dev Ops Program Manager, Salesforce Administrator, and Junior Developers to develop solutions based on stakeholder requirements; validating proposals, and delivering solutions scoped according to business needs, and within set timeframes.

The Senior Salesforce Developer will be working within the Enterprise Revenue Operations team and reports directly to the DevOps Manager. This role comes with the potential to grow and manage junior developers and admin(s) over time.

Work/Project Scope:

- Work with RevOps development leadership to set priorities and expectations for bi-weekly sprints and weekly mid-sprint releases - Work with partners and team members to add well-constructed user stories and user acceptance criteria to Jira tickets, connect with developers to move barriers and translate requirements into relevant criteria

- Run daily stand-up meetings with the development team and attend meetings related to sprint kick-offs and retrospectives - Collaborate with the Dev Ops Manager and Salesforce Administrators to validate business requirements and any considerations (security, scalability, limits), and design scalable solutions

- Develop solutions (including Apex classes and triggers), customize flows and optimize and solutions (based on specific requirements) to extend Salesforce in order to support business requirements, supervise and engage in code review with other developers

- Custom User Interface development, including pages/Lightning pages, Aura Components and Lightning Web Components, flows, and maintain technical knowledge on Salesforce best practices - Integrations: Use Salesforce APIs to integrate with other systems used in the organization,

- Adhere to Salesforce best practices, maintain code documentation, and write / maintain test classes for all custom development, where applicable

- Partner with DevOps leadership to ensure technical success of release cycles to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications - Maintain (and as needed initiate) business application integrations to Salesforce, such as DocuSign, Outreach, Marketo, Gong, Data Enrichment tools, etc.

- Collaborate with IT / Developers for other systems in order to integrate across the business,

- Groom the backlog as incoming tickets are created

Must Haves (Required Skills):

- Salesforce (Sales Cloud) and CPQ product knowledge and at least 5 years of direct Salesforce development experience

- Experience implementing and developing in Apex, LWC, Visualforce, and Java

- General web development experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript preferred

- A proactive attitude to Salesforce enhancements and bringing existing code into best practices,

- Familiarity with release cycle management, including use of code repositories (such as Git/Bitbucket) and Salesforce repository tools, such as Gearset, a plus

- Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I,CPQ and Salesforce Administrator certifications strongly preferred

- Proficient Salesforce Lightning Design System and the Salesforce development lifecycle, and ticket management software such as Jira or Asana

- A strategic view when it comes to deciding how code should be written in order to serve the business in the long term - Ability to write, interpret, and critique technical specifications,

- Able to work independently - Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders / other Salesforce team members

- Soft skills: the ability to gather requirements and present solutions to stakeholders
