We are looking for a committed Contract Special Security Officer to join our Industrial Security team. You will solve uniquely challenging problems for our Defense and Homeland Security customers. Help manage large volumes of critical, real-time information about issues from global to local. Get s#it done.

This position requires a current active US TS/SCI security clearance.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises some latitude in planning, scheduling and arranging own activities in accomplishing objectives. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Work is reviewed for desired results. Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards
  • Considered expert in field within the organization. Have detailed knowledge of other related disciplines. Possesses developed analytical and writing skills. Analyzes data for trends. Develops solutions to problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives
  • Plans and conducts assignments, generally involving more than one project
  • Must be able to work effectively with all employees to enforce and administer security requirements and provide effective and prompt services to all customers. Using good judgment, tact and diplomacy, decides on courses of action to accomplish this job
  • Travel to locations that RII is located is required
  • Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, program managers, project engineers, customer security representatives, and other professionals in the section or group
  • Represents organization as prime contact on projects
  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations
  • Coordinates and monitors highly sensitive aspects of security programs
  • Develops and implements program security plans
  • Acts as primary liaison with upper management and outside agencies
  • Coordinates security education programs
  • Creates monthly status reports

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

  • 6-8 Years directly related experience w/ Bachelor's Degree, emphasis on Security Administration / Criminal Justice
  • Specialized Government training in security policy generation and implementation, analytical risk management, and information system security management, preferred
  • An extensive in-depth understanding and knowledge of United States Government security rules and regulations, including Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and the Intelligence Community
  • Extensive knowledge of division’s security policies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal, oral presentation and writing skills
  • Knowledge of basic leadership, management and supervisory principles
  • Will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Polygraph may be required
  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret level government security clearance after employment, including all necessary special accesses

EVEN BETTER

  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer with working knowledge of RMF is a plus
