Content Manager (SEO)

As a Content Manager your primary responsibility is content creation using automated workflows and expert human intervention. You will work in a group with Directors and Managing Editors to ensure client goals are accurately and effectively implemented. You’ll manage timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring the smooth and timely execution of each project milestone.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  1. Content Creation & Coordination (60%)
    • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and milestones for multiple SEO and content engagements simultaneously.
    • Coordinate with Directors, Managing Editors, engineering team members to ensure tasks are completed on time and within scope.
  2. Quality Control & Deliverable Management (20%)
    • Oversee editorial and SEO workflows to confirm deliverables meet client objectives, brand guidelines, and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with Managing Editors and QA resources to verify accuracy, SEO best practices, and content consistency before final delivery.
  3. Client Collaboration Support (10%)
    • Partner with the your managing editors to share updates, gather feedback, and adjust plans as needed for the client.
    • Participate in periodic client calls to provide progress reports and insights on upcoming milestones.
  4. Reporting & Continuous Improvement (10%)
    • Track key KPIs (organic traffic, rankings, content performance) in collaboration with analytics specialists.
    • Assist in compiling and refining reports highlighting successes, areas for optimization, and next steps.

Key Responsibilities & Skills Needed

  • Content Creation and Time Management
    • Demonstrated ability to create content for multiple projects or programs concurrently.
    • Experience at or willingness to leverage AI and other automation tools to boost your productivity.

  • SEO & Content Knowledge
    • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals (technical SEO, on-page, off-page) and content marketing best practices.
    • Comfortable discussing keyword research, editorial processes, and performance metrics.

  • Collaboration & Teamwork
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to coordinate tasks among writers, editors, SEO experts, and automation engineers.
    • Proactive in identifying issues and resolving them collaboratively before they impact project delivery.

  • Strong Organizational Skills
    • Meticulous approach to documentation and process management, using tools like Asana, Trello, Jira, or Monday.com.
    • Capacity to juggle priorities and adapt quickly to shifting requirements.

  • Communication & Reporting
    • Clarity in written and verbal communication, especially when relaying project updates to both internal stakeholders and the Client Success team.
    • Capable of turning performance data into actionable insights and easy-to-understand reports.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in content creation like technical writing, copywriting, marketing, journalism or other equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with at least one project management software (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Trello).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Willingness to overlap at least 4 hours daily with U.S. Pacific Time.
  • Self-driven and detail-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment.

Nice to Haves

  • AI & Automation Familiarity
    • Exposure to AI-driven content or SEO tools, and an interest in learning more about automation frameworks.

  • Experience with Large-Scale SEO Programs
    • Past involvement in programmatic SEO, multi-site content rollouts, or large editorial programs.

  • Technical Understanding
    • Basic knowledge of CMS platforms, HTML/CSS, or analytics tracking setups to better coordinate technical tasks.
