Our Future Health is hiring a

Content Designer (Feedback, Engagement and Re-contact)

London, United Kingdom

We are looking for a Content Designer who will be responsible for creating content that delivers our Feedback, Engagement and Re-contact (FER) programme. The programme will help us to communicate with our volunteers after they have completed their sign-up process, offering health insights and opportunities to take part in follow-on studies.

Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.

What you’ll be doing

This role sits within our communications department, but it will involve working with numerous internal teams, with a particular emphasis on Product and Behavioural Science.

You will also work alongside other Content Designers to advocate for content design best practice across the organisation, so that our content is consistent, cohesive, and always on-message.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Designing new content for our Feedback, Engagement and Re-contact (FER) platform.
  • Identifying the language we should use to communicate nuanced and potentially delicate health topics, such as future risk of diseases.
  • Prototyping and testing content, working closely with product designers and behavioural scientists.
  • Using data and research as evidence to inform your content design.
  • Ensuring all content is accessible, usable, and aligned to our brand messaging.
  • Helping to iterate our style guides and content standards, so that consistency is maintained across platforms and materials.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the organisation to clearly and correctly represent complex requirements and processes.

Requirements

We need someone who can help shape our FER programme, and deliver the content it needs. That means participating in cross-functional conversations about what the programme should (and should not) offer volunteers, and helping to develop the correct language for content to use.

Most importantly, you’ll be a supreme writer who crafts clean and compelling content. You’ll be comfortable working on everything from CTA micro-copy and web forms to longer digital pages that convey complex subject matter to a wide audience.

You will also have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in a content design role.
  • Excellent understanding of content design, including usability and accessibility.
  • Evidence of championing content design to a wide-ranging group of stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary team, designing and developing content to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Experience of using data and research to inform content development.
  • Experience of creating technical documentation and/or scientifically complex content, in lockstep with subject matter experts.
  • Some experience with health content, especially on topics related to personal health risk, is desirable.

Benefits

  • Up to £42,000 per annum basic salary.
  • Generous company pension package with employer contributions of up to 12%.
  • 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
  • Continuous career development with regular appraisals and learning and development opportunities.
  • A lovely new office in Holborn, Central London – we offer flexible and remote working arrangements.
