Consumer Insights Manager

Tecovas is looking for a Consumer Insights Manager to lead the development and socialization of consumer insights throughout the company. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Strategy, you will lead the development, analysis and synthesis of consumer and marketplace data and champion these insights to relevant cross-functional leaders to inform decisions across product, marketing, and channel strategies. 

As the Consumer Insights Manager, you will be responsible for understanding insight needs for key decision makers across all teams, building an insights roadmap, and developing and sharing insights with all relevant stakeholders to support business decisions. You will lead the creation and execution of both qualitative and quantitative research efforts as well as analysis of this research and internal customer data.

This position is a hybrid role with the candidate strongly encouraged to work from our HQ office in Austin, TX with the ability to work remotely on other days. 

What you’ll do: 

Conduct Research and Analyze Insights:

  • Design and launch quantitative and qualitative research studies, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data from research and other internal or external sources to uncover consumer trends, preferences, and behaviors.
  • Identify and articulate consumer needs and develop rigorous and detailed profiles defining key customer segments and customer journeys.
  • Build and manage ongoing customer insights tools, including recurring product surveys and brand health studies. 
  • Develop and maintain reports and presentations synthesizing analysis into clear, actionable insights and recommendations. 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with functions across the organization, including product, marketing, ecommerce, and retail, to understand upcoming decisions and consumer insights needs from each team. 
  • Serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional teams and senior leadership, sharing insights in a timely manner to support decision making. 
  • Socialize insights with all teams to develop a shared understanding of our consumers, championing our core consumer segments throughout the organization.
  • Work with external research vendors and consultants as needed to augment internal capabilities.

Project Management:

  • Develop an insights roadmap that addresses and prioritizes needs for each team and socialize with cross-functional leaders.
  • Manage multiple research projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of all research initiatives, maintaining rigorous standards for data integrity and validity.

Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay informed of industry trends, new research methodologies, and best practices.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve research processes and deliver more impactful insights.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • BA/BS degree from a top-tier institution and demonstrated academic excellence and/or top-tier MBA program
  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing customer insights at a consumer brand or strategic, research, or marketing consulting firm.
  • Experience designing and leveraging qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Experience developing consumer segments/profiles and defining customer journeys.
  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing multiple sources of information into meaningful conclusions. 
  • Experience communicating insights and recommendations to decision makers including senior leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/workstreams simultaneously.
